Thanks for that mick, it brought back so many good memories of the sixties for me. The old Grammar school on the right and TLS on the left where we Linacre lads caught the bus down to Woodhouse Stadium or Christopher Park at S.L.G. At 2.40 is where I ran over half a brick on mi Norton and nearly finished in the gable end of the building, then 3.04 look to the right and there was the entrance to Woodhouse Stadium.
Then at 3.09 the original Martland Mill road went off to the left and re joined at 4.30. At 5.17 the white house used to be a shop and the lane that runs down to it was the last section of our cross country route back to Christopher park.
The row of houses at 5.25 was where a biker mate lived , I can't remember the number but we had some good times in there, at 5.58 the road to the right led up to Christopher Park where we did our cross country, I can remember crossing a colliery railway line which was still in use, then up a steep hill and past a coal mine or brick works with a tall chimbly or summat. My memory isn't as good these days but I am sure that around 7.33 in the dip of the road there was a disused brick over bridge embankment probably another relic of mining activity.
Then at 7.47 we used to scrape round the series of bends towards Shevy, scoot left at Church Lane and left and left onto Randal Ave for a brew with the Spencers..Happy days Very Happy

Owdkewyed the Linacre is now Wigans medical centre and Christopher Park is now Wigan athletics training ground, the white house shop at 5.17 was know as Bert Seeds, Bert was the owner.
The tall chimney would have been giants hall colliery and the bridge at 7.33 was the railway line that run from the John Pit to the canal at Crooke where the coal was tipped into the canal barges.
I used to live two doors away from the Spencers.
