Re his request, Anne found it bang on.
Colin Birkett Sr 1940 is listed on the Commonwealth Graves Commission.
That cemetery, plot and grave number (Kings Liverpool)
Also, is daughter Margaret and wife Nellie as per civil burial records.

If Tonker goes to www.cwgc.org.uk and enters C Birkett 1940, his wife can see the confirmation for herself, and also see, in additional information, the names of her paternal Great-Grandparents.

Any road up, if someone can see this and point this extra confirmation info his way.
God, some awful things happened to people. Not fair.
Thanks.

The quite younger brother of Nellie Jones Birkett:

Robert Anwyl Jones deceased Wigan in 1989 aged 63.

Their Dad was also called Robert Anwyl Jones and Mam was Geneva Wheatcroft Jones.

Does not mean to say that Mrs Tonker does not have other 'Jonesies' knocking about via an extended Jones or Wheatcroft lines does it though.

Good Luck putting it in to place for her, Tonker.
All the best.

Thank you for that. Yes, the information you've given does make sense to Mrs Tonks.
She tells me that, after her grandmothers death, her dad was brought up by his grandparents (whose names you have found), but his grandad was a nasty piece of work. He thought the world of his gran, though, and named several things after her, even using her name as a password (she says it was Generva).

Thanks again!

Ince is a real place. Spring View is in Ince but is not a real place. Spring View has never had it's own boundaries. Neither has it had it's own local government or had it's own parliamentary constituency.

Wigan Cemetary is also in Ince and so is Westwood Cemetary.
