I don't know about that building Mick but there were some houses built like that at pool stock a few years ago,

When I was in New Zealand they were building wooden framed houses like that then adding the brickwork after with steel rods running through
the bricks from top to bottom so as in an earthquake the brickwork would fall outward away from the house and the roof would still stay in place

Is it the one in Standish that was built too tall, and not as per plan?

The same house had to be demolished a few years ago.

Correct Nephro, they ended up having to tale the top floor down.

Well down Wigan Council for sticking to there guns by making the builders go back to the original plans.
