I've had help through here before so thought I'd try my luck again!

I have got my Wigan-side family tree back to John FAIRHURST(born c.1809 according to some censuses, in Ashton in Makerfield, living in Downham Green)who was married to Betty PILLING(born 1811, Ashton in Makerfield). Also Richard LITTLER (born c.1799) who was married to Hannah SIMKIN (born c.1798). I would love to find out more about their parents and siblings. So if you can help I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks, Tricia

Hello!
I am researching my family history and perhaps some of you have come accross the names of Bolton and Woods from Wallgate Wigan.
James Bolton b 1799 married Catherine Woods b 1812 at All Saints Church Wigan in Dec 1840. They moved to Liverpool, shortly afterwards, as they are not mentioned on the census for Wigan for 1841. They had a son, Joseph ( my G Grandfather)he was born in 1852. I am also trying to establish the birth date of James's father Robert Bolton, who was Mayor of Wigan in 1805 and also 1815.
Would appreciate some info on this person.

Thankyou.

This is a really great site and has already proved helpful.
Does anyone have any information about the Bradshaw family living in 1881 census at 85 Platt Lane, Wigan. I know it was a shop. I also believe they lived at Monument Park later on.
Anything would be useful

Due to recent spooky happenings at the priory wood (The mount) in orrell, me and everybody else that works here would love to hear more information about the ghosts that apparently haunt the place, if you have any stories, or information regarding this it would be much appreciated.
