Hi Golden Bear. I've used Canon PowerShots for over 10 years. Never an SX410 but the recent ones are fairly similar. They aren't great indoors but outside in good light they are good. When taking photos indoors or in dull conditions watch out for a little red flashing camera symbol on the screen, that means there isn't enough light and the shutter speed will be slow which usually results in blurry photos.
What types of photography is your wife interested in? Flowers, landscapes, people or (like me) anything and everything?
If she has taken some photos already please post some. If there are any she isn't happy with tell us why and we may be able to help.
