I haven't seen a hedgehog this year, but I have heard the birds singing when it has gone dark and early in the morning, again while it's still dark - quite eerie.

I went mad at my son the other night because he had poured salt in the metal thing underneath the back door because we were getting lots of slugs coming in the kitchen during the night. I have a lot of snails in my garden too - strange how snails look cute but slugs don't.

I've just stocked up again on seed and fat balls - I have bought loads this year - so I'm gonna start making my own, buy some lard and seeds - it will probably work out cheaper. I have left a few cooking apples for the birds - I catch them pecking them every so often.
