When I was in Wigan on Wednesday there was not one stall opened on the outside market. Don't get me wrong it was a bitter cold day and I would have hated to stand outside all day in the cold. However going back to the old outside market the stall holders were there come rain or shine and at Christmas time people relied on them for their Turkeys and fresh veg etc. Because there are supermarkets now though I supose we can get what we need from them and keep warm whilst we are shopping. It's whats called progress I know but none of us know where it's all leading.
