OK UJ, ta for the clarification. Although the Cally is defo in Ashton, well 'Town Green' anyroad...!

Golden Lion is the one on the same side of the street as the market. It has recently been done up, and re-named the Nag's Head (I think), for no good reason that anyone has come up with.

The Red Lion, known as Old Mary's, is on the opposite side of the street, not far from where Cromptons used to be, if you remember that. It's a pub that looks better, a lot better, if you stay outside.
