People   (Re-unions, trace old friends and relatives.)

Started by: llinden (9)

My cousin's great grandsfather was manager of a Cotton mill . His address in 1901 is Pemberton . She was told that when he died all the mills in town closed so that people could watch his funeral procession .

I don't know where the mill was or when the funeral was , but if the facts are correct , there must be something in a local paper .

He was John Sharples and he was 71 in 1901 . He had been born in Haslingden , where all the family were "reed makers"

Can you suggest which newspaper I should be looking for ?
