Winnie there was no name change he was born Thomas Howarth the son of Thomas Howarth and Gladys Seddon , he married as Thomas Howarth and is still Thomas Howarth
I think you will find his parents Thomas and Gladys were living in Leader street Wigan on the 1939 register
I think Chloe as all her info mixed up or the family may refer to him as Seddon ??
Chloe had a post some time ago regarding a George Ralphs and that info did not add up??
