Hi mswigan
I Was put into care as my mother was very ill and died whilst I Was in care one of the homes i was in Nazareth house Ditton hated it and ran away at the age of ten so badly beaten my body was full bruises they kept me in and out of sight as we were on holiday camping, the last home I was in prior to Greenfield was ST Edward's that was OK except like all the homes sad to say even Greenfield at the end the day they moved you just as if you were a piece of meat without rights feelings or consent. The truth is it has an affect to this day,my hope is change and future care takes on the human need of a sense of belonging and before the person making decisions imagine a close member of there family in that position and what they would want for them, to me Sister Mary Clare did her best on this score I am working to this end today. In the past care professionals came into your life gained you trust and then walked out of your life the care system destroys your self worth back to the meat trade that can have a lasting affect on your life the safe friends are those you were in care with sadly they were scattered upon leaving care with with no atempt from the professionals to keep us in contact with each other or indeed them sorry for going on not all bad I have memories like you [Maria ]
