Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

When the Quaker pit was open in which direction did they mine coal?About 30yrs ago when pumping water out of the mine they exposed at least 2 mineshafts along Leyland Green Road and I also remember sink holes appearing in the field behind Birch Grove which at the time was put down to shifting sand.
