You'll find that the Golborne which gets mentioned in the Domesday Book is Golborne near Chester. The reason Golborne isn't mentioned in the Domesday Book is the same reason as Wigan isn't mentioned, because they were parts of Newton and only Newton gets listed.

Back to Haydock Park. The racecourse is 'entirely' within Haydock Park Estate. Keepers Wood is within Haydock Park Estate as well, not in Golborne.

You can hardly call a golf 'driving range' in the same league as an 18 hole course! Ooooooh, Kerry!
