Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

i moved into the vine inn, in 1957 with my mam and dad, we decorated the front room upstairs to use as a bed room for my sister and i, on the wall by the window was a metal bracket, we did not know what it was for, we though it unsightly so dad removed it. all was well until whit Monday and walking day .the procession would be coming down caroline st. everyone was hanging out flags, dad found ours, it was massive,a large union jack on a pole that was six feet long and about 4"diameter,we found out what the bracket was used for.it took four of us to hold the flag out of the window while the procassion walked past,talk about laugh
