Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Hi Jem, put this on the general thread under Topic, best viewed thread but Jarvo jumped in waiting for me to bite, anyhow, congratulations, 20,000

I hope I am correct, the thread, not just one but three and one in particular will be coming up almost 20,000 views very shortly, surely a record on Wigan World.

It details the wonderful, obscure, haunting music of northern soul, motown, stax and philli music which Wigan played a massive part. It also details peoples memories of the northern soul scene stretching back some 40 years. Congratulations to rbilly for starting the first thread,to Bri Jolley, Jem especially for his dedication, knowledge and time. And congratulations to all who contributed including myself both on the northern soul and Wigan Casino threads.

I will be arriving from Aus on the 30th August to my beloved Wigan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wigan Casino and northern soul on or before the 23rd September. I will be catching up with my northern soul pals especially one who I have not seen for almost 35 years and only recently found on FB. We worked together during our apprenticeship, laughed,cried together during those crazy wonderful soulful years. We will hit that dance floor again, maybe not with the agility of back then in 1972 - 73 onwards but with all the energy, grace and soulfulness that remains to this very day.
