Sorry, Rbilly - I do understand. I have phobias of my own.

The situation reminds me of the story by Anthony Browne - Willy and Hugh.

Hugh the Ape saves Willy the Chimp from a bully, Buster Nose:



And Willy is able to help his friend, Hugh, by taking a spider away:



I'm petrified of driving, while my sister-in-law is one of the best drivers I know.

She's terrified of moths and I was once able to help her by catching one in her house and setting it free outside.
