Thing is, that in those days there was no McDonalds, Sainbury's or any other Supermarkets. Rabbits were easy to catch with the old ferret blokes and used to change hands in the pub at night for the price of a pint of flat rib. My dad regularly came home with a brace and it was my job to skin and gut them the morning after, I can tell you if you thought eating one made you heave you should have tried pulling out the guts of one, the small was nausiating.
