'I know you dog owners won't like this, but I think it should be made legal for ALL dogs to be muzzled in public. They may be little sweethearts at home, but no dog can be trusted in public with other dogs, children, or anyone else. Sorry, but that's what I think. NO dog can be trusted. I speak from a bad experience of dogs.'

mollie m, I couldn't agree with you more and I AM a dog owner. I own a gsd x and a rottweiler, both are muzzled when in a public place and are kept on leads. I love my dogs far too much to even risk them biting or even snapping at someone not that they have ever shown that tendancy yet. What I would also like to see is extendable dog leads done away with and it be made law that if the dog is in a public area, be that parklands, woodlands, fields, beaches etc, then it must remain on a lead at all times. Specific dog parks/exercise areas should be made for owners to allow their dogs off lead and if a dog is found off lead out of these areas then the owner/person responsible for the dog at that time needs to be fined.
I am a responsible dog owner and I hate when other peoples dogs come hurtling towards me and mine when we are out. As a disabled dog owner, I am usually wheelchair bound when out with my dogs, yes I always have someone with me but it is still not easy trying to control a potential explosive situation with some strange off lead dog from a wheelchair.
So mollie m,yes muzzle them and keep them on lead under control at ALL times - make it safer for all concerned.
