A young lad (probably still at school) made a couple of posts on here in early 2010.

He seemed interested in local history, which is to be applauded and encouraged. Thing was, he described himself as a 'Local Historian'.

He posted some spurious information and got short shrift from folk.

In short, he was shot down. Unfortunate, but he was put right. I hope the youngster's appetite for local history was not dampened and he learned to get his facts straight before speaking/typing with authority.

But more importantly, I hope another Tonker was not created.
