I aint sure it exists either.....sorry franny!
I've known soldiers who've been knocked a lot senseless by what they have experienced and then healed over time, I aint convinced its ptsd, or even if that term should just be called stress. Theres differing levels of many illnesses, stress and depression being under the same blanket.
I've lived in Northern Ireland during the troubles and seen first hand what its like, been threatened a couple times usual stuff and I am just a ex wife of a squaddie, yep it was scarey some of the time, but I don't think that has anything to do with me being the miserable git that I am lol.
Yep bombs are nasty, so are wars, bullets, etc etc. I think it depends on the strength of the person or whether they want to live forever in that minute when something went bad. Personally I see my life as a once only thing, I'd rather have a future than live in the past, if more thought the same there'd be less stress, depression or ptsd .
