I think Swifty is correct.

Anyone who follows a team (in whatever sport), for year after year, and followed them abroad is a supporter.

Calling your team rubbish or slagging them off etc etc, is voicing your matter of opinion.


"All in all, we support our team through these lower times with encouragement and let them know they never stand alone, we are the 12th player. We 'believe'."

I would say with regards to your comment (pasted above) that anyone who follows their team around Europe whether they win lose or draw is a supporter.
