Paul, i know what you mean about being very proud and not asking for help from anyone.
My fella's mum was the same and at first she went mad when he contacted the social services.
She was vicious to the poor woman who come & was always threatning to "kick 'em up the backside with me slipper!" it was awful at first. But after half an hour of talking she agreed to humour us and try it for "ONE DAY ONLY". . . that was 8weeks ago lol and now i don't think she could be without them, it makes the world of difference for her having somebody who will sit there and talk for a while. And it puts everyones mind at rest knowing she's safe.

Sorry for going on just thought i'd try and help, but every person is different and you know your mum better than anyone.
