Hello cherryandwhite, jellied eels, better than tripe and onions! What I just wanted to say is that the Krays were a bunch of thugs and gangsters who hurt and even murdered people and no one can try to defend that. After saying that, the East-End was a lot safe for the majority of people especially old ladies like Mrs. Nicholson, there were no drugs, muggings were practically unheard of, and if anyone hurt an OAP they would be signing their death warrant. If Pauls brother had lived in the East-End 40 years ago, he would definately have gone round to look after his sick mother. The alternative would have been emigration!
