Putting my parents in a nursing home was one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make
They lived all their lives in Wigan until they were no longer able to take care of themselves.
We brought them to live in Essex and we took care of them in our home for 3yrs until it got to the stage where we could not manage them.
We had some very difficult times and decided to get some help it is 1yr ago today that we put mum in the home as we were trying to place them together but because their needs were different mum had to be assessed first.Dad went in 2 wks later and although we managed to get them in the same home they were not in the same unit.
Neither of them wanted to go into a home and I didn't want them to go but I did it and they are both now dead and I am still living with the guilt.
There is no easy way of doing it especially if they don't cooperate.

You should get help from social services to find a suitable placement but if they have property or savings you will have to pay towards the cost of their care!!!!!
