She's come to Calgary a few times. For me the best was 1974 I think it was. Mum and I went down to the route she was taking. A crowd was at the corner where she was expected to slow down to turn but we were a couple of hundred feet away on the edge of the road alone. She drove by slowly maybe 10 mph and we waved and they waved and they were looking at us, only us and smiling and waving and for a few seconds we knew we were the only subjects she had in the whole world. Wow. Tears in my eyes right now after 35 or so years.
