I left school in 1969 at 14yr old and got an apprenticeship( Coal Mining Craft Apprentice)at 15years of age which was a 3yr 6month indentured apprenticeship.Did 10 years has a pit mon then in 1979 just after the explosion got my lamp and become a colliery official. You knew me has a kid from DG which I left when I was 21 and apart from working together on the odd occassion you know nothing about me except through these key boards. The pit shut in 1989 and since that Time I have seen very few ex pitmen except at funerals. 10years ago I was diagnosed with Cancer and through the NHS got rid within 3weeks of seeing the doctor.7years ago my wife was misdiagnosed twice (trap nerve in her neck), This turned out to be she had a mini stroke followed by a major stroke which nearly killed her. 2years ago she collapsed at home and ended up in ICU at Wigan, I was there every day for 11hours for 3days on the 4th day the hospital had lost her when on visiting she was not on the ward but nobody knew where she was After some phoning she was found on the stroke unit,Could have been dead and in the mortuaryI am not going to go into all my life history but maybe other people could understand why I have a love/hate history with the NHS.Found a form for inland revenue/pensions which says I joined the NCB on 11/08/69 and finished on 06/05/89. Also found a ULCI certificate which says Coal mining craft cert.stage four Mining Tech credit Engineering Tech pass Mining Legislation credit cannot find my indenture cert for love nor money
