General   (General discussion, talk about anything.)

Have the younger people's perception of what 'summer' is changed? Heard the weather forecaster on Country File yesterday say "THE RETURN OF SUMMER" RETURN!!! as far as I am concerned it hasn't been. A few nice days here and there and people say it's been a Good Summer. Back in the 1950's and 60's when I was growing up, Summer weather i.e. sunny days lasted for weeks with just an occasional rainy day. It would appear that these days what the younger generation perceive as 'summer', is just the odd couple of days of sunny weather, along with rainy days.
Another thing that annoys me is when the weather forecasters say "It's going to be really hot today, but in the north its windy and rain..." They talk as if LONDON and the south is THE U.K. and up north we are just an afterthought.
