General   (General discussion, talk about anything.)

I've suffered tinnitus for many years, probably like many others in industry didn't give a thought to ear plugs or defenders (head phones).
I did look into it, my doctor sent me of an MRI which revealed very little, eventually diagnosed "non-specific" in other words nothing to find (except for a big void between my ears lol), an MRI is worth doing just in case a small growth is developing internally behind the ear which is pressing on the nerve, that can be successfully dealt with.
One suggestion was to have the nerve from my ear surgically cut, this I regarded as too drastic as it doesn't alway work then you are stuck with no hearing but still the tinnitus racket going on.
I'd rather retain what hearing I have than have a non-reversible procedure done.
I have tried certain medications but none have worked, I occasionally get a quieter day but they are few and far between, I do feel sorry for anyone with this curse as at its worst it is very dibilitating and does destroy concentration at times.
At least I can sleep at night but some poor folk have it 24/7/365 and have to take a sedative at night to sleep, that must be horrendous
