Jarvo. You are wrong about Mr Murphy. He was far from a cruel man.
Two of his teachers used the cane indiscriminately, he never did.
He was a fair minded man but strict.
He was also choir master for St. Cuthberts church, I know, I was in the choir. He was a dedicated headmaster and a dedicated Catholic.
The myths of him and Sister Rose are so very wrong.
