I remember walking home from Robert Lewis with my sisters in the very early sixties. In those days school finished at four o'clock and it would be getting dark when we set off home. Near to Christmas, we would compare all the Christmas trees that were on show in the houses of Thorburn Road and Norley Hall Avenue. There were no outside displays in those days, thank God...

Everything had its place. Money was tight, but we appreciated the small things. Happy afternoons walking home up Norley.
