Just recalling how my family arrived in Wigan and how they came to live in norley. Mum was evacuated from Liverpool during the war to Southport, to a lovely family. After a couple of years she was put on a train. aged 7, heading in the direction of Wigan where her Mum and Dad knew some of her family were. They were all put in a house on Ormskirk Road at Pemberton, where Lamberhead Green Workingmens club is now. There was at least three families sharing the house, and from what I can gather big families. When the house was demolished they were all re-housed on the new estate. I never actually lived there but remember the good times as grandchildren do. What surprised me the most is how much I do remember and such good ones!!!
