Yes, kath, Sid was a tall lad but he was younger than me. He had an older brother who I think was older than me but not much.....think he was Derek. Kevin was Kathleen's brother but again younger than me and Eric simpkin was Ronnie (who was a woman !!) and John's son. Both the O'Leary's and the Simpkins lived on each corner of Thirlmere Road and Rydal Walk. You sound as if you might be younger than me. Did you know Jean Aspey.....she's 6 years younger than me...61. We lived next door to the Aspeys all the time we lived there......I'm still friendly with Norma (Jean's Mum) who's 86 now. Or did you know Sandra Ralphs....they lived next door but one to us and Sandra had that dress shop in Pemberton at the bottom of the alleyway from Fleet Street down into Pemberton. She had it for years.....don't know what it is now because we live in Hindley now so I've lost touch a bit with Pemberton but we go seeing Norma regularly.
