Somebody mentioned the road parallel to Helvellyn Road. Could it have been Thirlmere Road ?? The Green ran along the top and we used to have our bonfires on there. I grew up there and can still name everybody who lived down there....more or less !!! Buttermere Road along the bottom going down to the shops......happy days !!!!
