We were never dirty. And mi mum would NEVER dress us in rags.

Did you live on Norley?

We played out in old clothes our best were saved for school and church. Dirty? Of course we were, Norley was still a building site when we moved there. I was aged three and we had moved from the slums in Scholes. We had a proper bath in our brand new council house, not a tin one, so us kids were given a nice hot bath due to a coal fired back boiler.
