Who was the carrier, Peter? Routes get chosen in relation to where their depots are, I guess.

Couple of years back, I ordered a huge industrial dehumidifier from Germany. OK, you can buy them in UK, but I got a deal, paying about a third of normal cost.

Weighs over a hundredweight.

I ordered at 10-00 am, and it was delivered to my doorstep before 9-00 am the following morning.

Now that is FAST!

We order stuff from Northern Ireland. If we order in the morning, it's delivered to us, in Westhoughton, the next day, via Liverpool and Haydock.
It's £10 delivery.

We also order stuff from Hyde, only 19 miles away. If we order in the morning, it's delivered to us, in Westhoughton, two days later, via Rochester, in Kent, then Haydock.
It's £16 delivery.

One wonders where they find these transport managers!

By the way, Shaw is not in Manchester!

Tonker never said it was it was just a point of reference because even I had no idea where it is and could not be arsed googling it

Oddly enough, I am currently awaiting a Yodel delivery.

The driver is less than half a mile from me.

There are however 50 deliveries to drop before mine.

ETA before 9-00pm!

I do wonder if the driver is transiting through the district, and my delivery is scheduled to be dropped on the return leg.

Excellent tracking information though.

Been a real eye-opener tracking this.

I expected to make out some discernible pattern of travel, as driver makes the days deliveries.

HaHa: Not so!

Zig-Zag back and fore right across the district all day long!

Once, within 200 yards of me, then two miles away and repeat etc etc.

That's Yodel for you. They're shite!
If they did that, working for Tufnell's, they'd not last a month.
They'd be "down the road and under that bridge, Boyo"!

Not the driver's choice.

Parcels are numbered in the order they have to deliver them.
