NETTO

A bit sad to see it go - nostalgic about Netto as it was the local shop when I lived in Knowsley & where I'd walk to with my first baby in their pram.

Before they sold out to ASDA, there was a NETTO store about 600 yards from where I live: it was always very busy.
Out of town, but on a route that I use, is one of the new NETTO stores courtesy of Sainsbury. I have never noticed ANYONE shopping there!
I do miss the NETTO 'Spotlines': some real bargains were to be had.

The new run of Netto'ses aren't a patch on the previous ones. In fact, I called at the one in Little Hulton about a month ago and I thought it wasn't fit to clean B&M's shoes!

Yes, makes you wonder what Sainsbury were thinking about.
Still, if they have got £ 30 Million to chuck away........

On announcing their opening, Sainsbury's said, "The new Netto stores will represent a complete departure from the format that left the UK market in 2010".
And that, in a nutshell, is why they're shutting!

Just drove past the NETTO store to which my post of 4th Jul 2016 at 15:35 refers.
It has closed down and no new business is yet occupying the premises.
It is a good job we are in the UK, where the executive who wasted £30 Million of the shareholders cash, can enjoy the protection of a culture which rewards failure. Wonder if he got a super bonus, or a promotion maybe.
