A baby called Bert

Started by: i-spy (15252)

When did you last come across one.
I blame the parents for the disappearance of so many traditional names
And since when has Sara rhymed with Zara

I've never known a baby called Bert, I-spy. Perhaps you could find a way to start a resurgence?

Know a Jack, a Milly, Ben, Alfie, Sam, Molly. All shortened traditional names.
I'm not too keen on surnames used as first names. Elliot, Bradley, Scott etc. although some names are appropriate for both. Thomas, James, Charles.

Herbert James "Burt" Munro (Bert in his youth; 25 Mar 1899 - 6 Jan 1978) was a New Zealand motorcycle racer, famous for setting an under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, 26 August 1967. This record still stands; Munro was 68 and was riding a 47-year-old machine when he set his last record. (Wiki)

Thanks, I-spy, I'm up to speed now.
