OGS - Worse Than Wilf McGuiness?
Started by: jarvo (29269)  Report abuse
Maybe Utd should learn from history...

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
their not a sacking club you know..

Posted by: broady (14833)   Report abuse
Jarvo,
Can tell you donít drink it. His name was Wilf McGuinness. I used to do enter quiz in an Irish bar and one of the answers was almost always Guinness. The number of folk that spelt it wrong was unbelievable especially as it was on every beer mat and illuminated signs all over the bar advertising the drink.

What history would that be then .?

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
sacking every manager bar one since 1969..

Posted by: grimshaw (1844)  Report abuse
Not forgetting they are the most successful club in english football history.

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
but your forgetting liverpool41 trophys apiece

OGS - Worse Than Wilf McGuiness?(sic)

And yet still with a better record than the bearded Portugeser who runs up and down the touchline in Wolverhampton.

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
chatty how many points in front is ole than the bearded one 10,20,30 or 40 even?

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
and please put how much each team cost so we can justify the points to team cost difference..

LG,
That isn't how the league works I'm afraid. Maybe it would be more interesting but sadly not to be.

Posted by: laughing gravy (4792) Report abuse
broady any thoughts on the next manager? i'd be very surprised if ole gets to see his cotract out,and hes 7 games this month 6 away..

Posted by: broady (14833)   Report abuse
LG,
Not really given it much thought. In industry a CEO wouldnít get rid of someone he appointed because that is an admission to all and sundry that he cocked up. On a personal level I donít blame OGS. If I were to want anyone firing it is the CEO who has presided over disaster after disaster since SAF retired.

Appointing from within has never worked for United. Fergie was poached from Scotland, not within the scouting and minor coaching roles at the club.

I'll give him two more weeks.

They may even sack him on Friday.

You will be so wrong .

Posted by: baker boy (14747) Report abuse
wilf mcguinness was unfairly treated at utd,he inherited as did the manager's after alec ferguson a team that needed urgent rebuilding.no team is going to stay top when its ageing heart gives way.
