Did you have to buy it or do you just rent it

I remember the little housing development off Ince Green Lane (back of where the clinic was) a couple bought one thinking it would be a nice place to live, the developers couldn't sell any more so sold them on to the council, and what did the council go and do - move all the nocturnal Durham Street lot down there. The couple was livid and they couldn't sell up and move so had to put up with the nightly boozing parties and street bonfires of the Durham Streeters, no idea if it is still the same nowadays.

Welcome sabbs...I wish you a very warm welcome to W.W.but please don't class all council house tenants the same...I live in one and and am a long way from scum...believe me...I think they'll be for rent Elizabeth, and most likely having their rent paid for them...just blame the stupid system.

Sadly, this is seems to be the norm.

People pitch-up and completely ignore the fact that folks around them have certain standards. Those standards being part of the attraction to the site/situation in the first place.

Without any thought for anyone else, they suddenly impose their lower standards onto the rest.

Then:

Bang goes the neighbourhood!

This is what happens when council dwellings are no longer available due to them being sold off (Wonder who's idea that was?). Plus the facts that Dustaf pointed out.

Don't forget, some once great streets on our estates have suffered the same fate of bad interlopers.

We used to take the children to the little park and formal garden area at the side of the canal behind the mill and behind CHPS, then stroll along the canal - but sadly that's gone now......
