Wigan - Manchester 32 bus

With the withdrawal of the Wigan - Manchester 32 bus, has anyone tried the guided bus way from Leigh, the V1? Of course it's probably easier to get on a train from Wigan but I'm not in Wigan.

Ive been 3 times twice on V1 from Leigh and once on V from Atherton. Living in Hindley I took the car to the bus stop free parking then got the bus. The 1st two didn't give me any advantage at all but was ok however the Atherton one coming back the dopey bus driver was displaying his sign which said Atherton which we boarded then when we were half way down the busway another bus relayed him on the radio to say he was displaying the wrong sign as he was the Leigh bus not the Atherton one and all the Atherton lot had to get off and wait at Astley for the real Atherton bus It took us 1hour 45 mins to get home that day including the car home. Train for me nrext time Dave

Thanks Peter, your comments appreciated. I expect sometime in the next few days I'll be using the V1, I've also noticed that it stops near the Fred Aldous craftshop where I go sometimes, it would save a walk from Piccadily Gardens.
There's been a suggestion that the V2 bus from Atherton could extend to Hindley, but I'll believe it when I see it. I haven't used the train for years, wonder what parking is like at Hindley station? Might be better at Daisy Hill station. Maybe wrong destination was just "teething trouble" and now sorted.

I park a couple of streets before I get to the station off Ladies lane then go round the back of the Top Ale house (Eddington) I've never used the car park. V2 would be handy though if they extended it as I used the 32 a lot.

V2 from Atherton takes about 50-55 mins to get to Manchester at off peak times. The buses seem to struggle sometimes getting out of Manchester due to road work but it should be ok when work is finished.Usually it is a good service

There were plans put in for Hindley station car park to be extended, this was a couple of years ago,and nothing has happened,it was for another 80 parking spaces.
