Hi jayell

Thank you. Not urgent at all, but I have been doing the Kellie family tree and Alan's side and my side seem to have gone their separate ways even though all lived in Ince. Just wanted to let him know we existed.

Regards

Stevek, I have seen Alan over the weekend and he says he's not sure who you are but you are welcome to visit him anytime in the Walmesley Arms, Spring View . . . you'll find him in there on Mondays (darts&doms), Fridays & Saturdays

Thanks jayell

Alan and I are 2nd cousins according to my research. I am one of the grandsons of Alan's grandfather's brother, James Kellie. I now live in the South-East of England, so meeting him in the Walmesley Arms is not an option. I have several 1st cousins who still live in the Wigan area, though.

I have been in touch with his sister Irene by email.

Hi stevek. I worked at English Tools (Bulldog Tools) in the 1960s and one of my best friends during that period was Alan Kellie (Kelly?). Im not sure that this is the same lad but if it helps, he was a great looking lad and styled himself on "ELVIS" and did a pretty good job of it!!! We got on great but when the young girls came on the scene we lost contact. Nevertheless, because we were best of mates I think of him from time to time. As I said earlier, Im not sure its the same lad I know from way back in the 1960s but he was a great friend!!!

Hi johnboy

If Alan was in his 20s during the 60s then it is probably the same guy.

Hi stevek. I can't help you with any Genealogy (family tree) regarding Alan. Nevertheless, I can fill you in quite a lot with what type of lad he was during the time we were friends and worked together.

For example: I worked at English Tools for several months but decided to leave (great ambitions to be a singer and songwriter). After 12 months I felt a desire to return to English Tools - but there were NO jobs available. Alan litterally pleaded with the forman to give me a job ... and HE DID!!! They are the kind of friends that people need! Hope you find what your looking for. God Bless you. johnboy.
