Ashcrofts
I am trying to trace my family, the Ashcrofts. I am looking for descendants of John and Alice Ashcroft, who married at St. Thomas , Upholland in 1864. They lived at 49 Heald, Upholland. Their children were Margaret(born 1868),William(my great grandad born 1871)Alice Elizabeth(born 1873), John,1875 and Abraham,1877.
John died in 1876, aged 32, then Alice(nee Chisnall) married Arthur Allen from Leighton Buzzard. Their children were Mary, Thomas, Susannah and Emily and Arthur. They lived at the Robin Hood in Spencers Lane.
I have just found out I am related to Richard Ashcroft from the Verve and would like a member of his family to also contact me. I have had 2 other members of my family make contact thanks to Wiganworld. I really appreciate the privilege of using your website.

I was looking things up for someone tracing the Murdochs(Murdocks)...quite a few of them were involved with Ashcrofts(name spelt as Ascroft)...either marrying them,or as witnesses at weddings. Go to Lancs OPC site,go to Search on first page.,type in Ashcroft(or Ascroft)in surname box...dont put anything else...it will throw up all baptisms.,marriages and burials for Ashcroft,in the whole county
