Tommy (pap) Parry from Platt Waz

Well known round the pubs in Platt Bridge is he still gong strong not seen or heard anything about him for years. He was always in the King Billy and Queens.

I have just had an e-mail to say Tommy has been out for the last three Sundays. He goes with his brothers and has one pint. He is in sheltered accommodation in Moss lane but by all accounts is doing well which is good news. He was in the King by the way.

That's good news to know he's ok. broady thanks. Also Pey Burrows, beep54, not seen Pey since the Owd Hall days when we used to watch the rock band on Fri and Sun nights what a character he was passing a sweaty motorbike boot round full of ale and swigging out of it. Happy days. Is Pey ok?

Lost contact in the 70s but bumped into him few years ago, he is ok, still as mad as a brush.

He worked with my dad at LUT depot, He once threw a firework in the chip range at the chippy in Lower Ince and blew the shop up.

There was a Dickie Sharples in my class at school. Lived in Hindley last time I heard. Saw him in the King probably fifteen years or so ago.

Peter g it is so loooonnnng ago I remember going to Peter's home to see Yellow Sub on the television Peter's brother told me that there would soon be a machine that you could record on and watch again and again, didn't seem possible but hey ho,uncle joe, there was Barry AKA Jigger

Getting back to Tommy Pap, In the late 1940s & early 1950s, If Wigan Rugby played in the final at Wembly a Chap they called Tommy Pap was said to walk from Wigan to Wembley , he set off walking 3 weeks before the game,

That's about right broady didn't he get held down in the Platt Bridge inn and someone tattood "pap tommy" on his chest that's the story he told us anyway.
