Nice shots of a fantastic area!
I was up there with a local walking club recently - hence recognising the Tarn pic!

cordyline, as a result of your earlier pics I looked up the National Trust which mentioned Janet's Foss. I had never heard of Malham Tarn, it is an area I intend to visit. Thankyou for the pics/posts.

Oy was you there in Spring this year ?
VG if you decide to go to the area for a couple of days I know a very good b & b
I could also suggest where to eat and not to eat
Malham village is small but very very popular with walkers

cordyline, lovely pics again, I liked the black and white one of the stables as well with the light coming through in the background.
ps do you enter competitions then?
Replied: 14th Sep 2011 at 15:52
VG
No I don't enter competitions
Just take photos for a hobby, I now have a Nikon Single lens reflex camera
I just use a 35mm lens, not a zoom lens which are popular now
The 35mm is about the same as he 'old' film cameras which were about 45/ 50 mm

You changed the pic Cordy
I meant to remark that your first pic was deceptive - as regards the stones.

Near the 'Nelson' are the 'Whalley Arches'
I took this photo yesterday, waited ages for a train -- none came so I stuck that Hornby on -- borrowed the steam from elsewhere

There musn't be any cable available in Whalley - every house on the left has a sky dish.
If the sign on the house read 'Now Here' - the place wouldn't sound quite as depressing.

Great setting for Harry Potter, and Malham Tarn was the inspiration for Charles Kingsley's 'The Water Babies'. Very beautiful, but I can imagine the weather being really wild up there sometimes.
