Ince Bar was the area of land in the centre of Ince known as Smithy Green. There were a few cottages there, in front of the war memorial.

All have since been demolished (in the 80s) to make way for the Kentucky Fried Chicken and such like.

Those of us who where lucky enough to live in that area didn't need to go into wigan,we had nearly every thing we needed
on Ince bar.Shops,pubs,hairdressers,
barbers and the best folk you could ever meet,we even had our own Bobby to cross the road outside the squirrel.

Do you remember the barbers shop that was behind the bus stop on Ince bar. There was a little shop next door to it and then a bank at the end.
