I hate the mobile Phone do you ?

Started by: john joseph (3197)

This evening when spending time on forward planning of the herb project and refreshing the garden long ago neglected, I was so contented . no wind, no rain , and sat with my tibetan spaniel in the green field on a chair wich just about held my bottle of old peculiar beer in its arm rest with 2 more bottles available if anyone turned up when they saw how happy i felt in my little paradice then the dreaded noise fom this thing in my inside pocket telling me they have somthing they want from me

So looking around at this area of tranquility i decided to switch off the blasted machine

and im not even sorry if it was you

When I worked in the UK I had two cellphones and a pager on my belt, don't miss any of them or the moaning buggers on the other end of the call!

Approaching 70 I do not have a mobile, never had or used one.We have lost our freedom to be alone with our thoughts.I can see and appreciate the benefits of a mobile but I think I will stay phoneless.

A mobile phone was for the use of making calls on the move, then texting was added cheaper than making a callNow mobiles are media centres with everything from video cameras/tv/sat nav etc.In Wigan can even be used to pay for parkingThe latest app is for using the phone to pay bills. Most of the time I only carry my phone for emergencies

People are amazed when they ask for my mobile number and I tell them I don't have one..They look at me with a "HOW DO YOU MANAGE" look... Worst invention of the 20th century.

My mobile has been on the blink for months, and I have been trying to hold out until my birthday next month, when I hope to get a smartphone which I really need for work. Its been great not hearing it ring/beep or vibrate - apart from when it decides to kick in that is. I may just put the smartphone on hold, the peace is wonderful.

Its the phone makers that have told us we NEED them, we don't really, they're an annoyance at best, they're down right dangerous at times, they fry your brains and cause stress and as others have found out, life with the phone turned off is more productive if your working, and more peaceful when your relaxing,

I have the most simple, pay as you go phone... Most of the time it's switched off... I have it in my handbag, just in case I have a problem when I'm driving ( flat tire.. engine light coming on, etc )... I have been known to switch off the house phone too, my daughter can't understand it, she being one of the the millions that can't go anywhere without the phone being glued to their hands... God forbid they miss even the most mundane of messages I prefer the peace and quiet anytime...

So we all can see how important they are, and why does the signal affect your brain so much you are forced to pace all the time you are on it.

I've noticed that too Mac, If you ever watch anyone from roadworks gangs on the phone, they pace up and down and kick stones,
