what will you all be doing Halloween?

Will any of you be sitting watcging telly in the dark pretending your out (like one of my brothers do)? lol

Ill be having a little party for my two, dont want them knocking on doors...ive always wanted go to- is it pendle hill??

Anyway its supposed be a place where they hung witches and they have a 'do' there each year.

Well ive bought bags of sweets for the kids that will knock here, but its funny sometimes.....some expect money and when you give them sweets you can see their faces drop...but they try and smile and pretend they are not dissapointed!

Hallowe'en or All Hallows Eve as it should be known,is yet another custom belonging to the very superstitious Americans.I am very reluctant to encourage children to take part in this ridiculous ritual and each time they knock on my door I challenge them to tell me what it means and just like most other events of this kind they have little or no idea.

Here's a place you might like to visit and quite close to pendle hill to!

My little one won't be door knocking (don't agree with it), but will be all dressed up for a party. There'll be a pumpkin in the window (was a turnip when I was a lad),and while we won't be door knocking, there'll be sweets for any children that do (not money).

As for Pendle Hill - I watched last year when TV's "The Most Haunted" was broadcast from there. Certainly put the willies up me !

hazmarcon: good idea...my dad died early morning on the 31st 13 years ago.....obviously none of us could be bothered by tricker-treaters....but we hadnt told anyone in the street that he'd died so the kids didnt know....we just kept answering the door, i got fed up with it after a while cos you could tell it was the same kids (not many small kids back then in shevington) so i gave one £10 and said if he told his mates to leave us alone there would be another tomorrow....they left us alone and he never came back the day after!!!
