NHS
Glad to see that the NHS operates the good old policy that if I give you one I will have to give everybody one:
Relative of mine went to the NHS hearing aid clinic at Thomas moore to have a small repair to his hearing aid parking cost £2 aid repair took 30 seconds as it was a replacement part (elbow)upon asking if he could have a spare elbow in order that if and when the new one broke he could fix it himself the reply was if I give you one I will have to give everybody one so next time the part needs replaceing which is just a snap on part he will have to ring and wait for an appointment then pay £2 parking and it will again take all of 30 seconds .......Yes the NHS is very good in parts but some of the staff running it need a bit of a shake up

I wonder what the elbows actually cost?
Probably less than a pack of batteries.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the Audiology Dept at Thomas Linacre;
Whilst repairs do require an appointment I have walked in and had the ear pieces ( the proper name escapes me!)replaced without an appointment.
If your friend has no option but to drive there he will have to pay for parking - but it's still a good deal cheaper than buying a hearing aid privately!
As for the staff I have nothing but praise for them - a superb team

I was thinking 'the elbow' was the tube, hence my comment aboout the low cost.
It's the hooked part according to this.
