Tonight Is The Full Corn Moon...

Started by: jarvo (30253)

A time of reflection, nostalgia, meeting long lost friends and lovers...
A time to wander out into the fields and perhaps drink a flagon of cider; or, if you prefer, a couple of pints of lager...
A time of joy and peace,
and buying that new winter fleece...(burrrrr);
a time of deep thought on what's gone before...
and not driving that old banger anymore...

A time to give thanks on the Harvest to come...

And, at this time of year, to remember mi Mum...

Tonight is the full Corn Moon...

Enjoy it if you can...

Slowly,silently,now the moon,
Walks the night in her silver shoon,
This way and that, she peers and sees,
Silver fruit upon silver trees.
One by one,the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch.
Couched in his kennel.like a log,
With paws of silver, sleeps the dog.
From their shadowy cote, the white breasts peep,
Of doves in a silver feathered sleep.
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,with silver claws and a silver eye.
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

"The moon shines bright on Charlie Chaplin,
His boots are cracking, for want of blacking,
and his little baggy trousers they'll want mendin',
Before we send 'im, to the Dardenelles".
