Plantations Railway Bridge

When was the ironwork of the bridge vandalised?

I think it was done by someone in a stolen JCB in the early eighties.

Or was it earlier?

Cracking photograph.

For years the damage was hidden from the path by bushes and made secure with a wooden palisade fence.

Then the bushes were cleared and a modern steel fence (seen in pic) added.

He can't replace original Victorian castings though.
